Dining in Ottawa
D'Arcy McGee's Irish Pub
D’arcy McGee’s Irish Pub first opened its doors in August of 1996 and is located one block south of Parliament Hill and directly across from the War Memorial and NAC.
Thomas Darcy McGee was a prominent politician and a Father of Confederation known for his stirring speeches that helped unite the fractured new country called Canada. He was assassinated on April 7th 1868 in front of his Sparks Street boarding house only blocks from where the Pub now stands. The Pub was designed in Dublin, constructed in Wexford, shipped to Canada and reassembled in the Nation’s Capital. The interior consists of hand crafted wood and beautiful mosaic tile floors accenting the bar and dinning areas.
It’s Ottawa’s authentic Irish Pub, designed and built in Ireland. Choose from a wide array of Irish beer and whiskeys, dine on real Irish fare and enjoy the music and camaraderie. Enjoy any one of our beautiful patios and feel the energy of Sparks Street in the summer.
